Gelagen Ingredients and Supplement Facts: How to Read the Label

From the Gelagen Editorial Desk at Gelagaen · Medically reviewed by Dr. Audrey Rutherford, MD, Physician · Last updated

Quick answer

Gelagen ingredients are 13 nutrients per serving of two gummies, with no blend. Biotin leads at 5,000 mcg, far above its 30 mcg reference, followed by 442 mcg DFE of folate, 630 mcg of vitamin A and 20 mg of vitamin C. The gummy base, sweeteners and allergens are not published. Read the units first, because mg and mcg change how big a number looks.

Key facts

  • Serving size: 2 gummies. Servings per bottle: 30. Gummies per bottle: 60.
  • 13 nutrients are listed, each with its own amount. No proprietary blend, and no collagen.
  • Biotin: 5,000 mcg, which is 16,667% of the 30 mcg Daily Value.
  • Choline (0.04 mg) and inositol (40 mcg) are trace amounts. Inositol has no Daily Value.
  • Other ingredients and the allergen statement are not published on this site.
  • The panel on this site is rebuilt from the seller's ingredient sheet. The label photo is not published here.

What does the Gelagen supplement facts label show first?

Look at the top of the panel before the nutrients. Two lines set the scale for everything else: the serving size and the servings per container. For Gelagen the serving is two gummies and a bottle holds 30 servings. That adds up to 60 gummies, which matches the front of the bottle.

Every amount below is for those two gummies, not for one. If you ate a single gummy you would get half. If a friend says "it has 5,000 mcg of biotin," the right reply is "in two gummies."

One honest note. The panel on this website is rebuilt from the seller's ingredient sheet, because a photo of the printed label was not supplied to us. So compare it with the panel on your own bottle. Where the bottle and this page disagree, the bottle wins.

That list is the whole Gelagen formula: 13 named nutrients, each with its own amount, and no blend.

Why do mg and mcg change how big a number looks?

This is the trap on most supplement labels. A milligram (mg) is a thousand times bigger than a microgram (mcg). Biotin at 5,000 mcg looks huge next to vitamin C at 20 mg. But 5,000 mcg is only 5 mg. The picture flips once the units match.

Two more units appear on this panel. Folate is shown in mcg DFE, which stands for dietary folate equivalents, so folic acid and food folate can be compared on one scale. Vitamin A is measured in mcg RAE (retinol activity equivalents), and its Daily Value is 900 mcg RAE.

  • mg: a thousandth of a gram. Seen on vitamin C, vitamin E, B6, pantothenic acid, zinc and choline.
  • mcg: a thousandth of a milligram. Seen on vitamin A, D, B12, biotin, iodine and inositol.
  • mcg DFE: the folate scale. Seen on folate only.

What does percent Daily Value really mean?

The Daily Value (DV) column compares each amount with the FDA's reference for adults (FDA Daily Value page). 100% means one day's reference. It is a label tool, not a target and not a dose to chase.

The same column shows why biotin stands alone. Its DV is only 30 mcg, so 5,000 mcg works out to 16,667%. Most of the other rows sit between about a quarter and one DV. Nothing else on the panel is more than two and a half times its reference.

What do the forms in brackets tell you?

Words in brackets, such as "as retinyl acetate," name the exact form of the nutrient. Six rows on the Gelagen panel give a form. Seven do not, and "form not stated" is simply what it is.

Retinyl acetate is a preformed type of vitamin A. That matters for pregnancy and for stacking with other products, because preformed vitamin A has an upper limit of 3,000 mcg a day from all sources (NIH ODS vitamin A). Methylcobalamin is one active form of B12. The NIH finds no proof that one B12 form absorbs better than another at normal doses.

Folate, biotin, zinc and iodine do not name a form. Ask the order desk if the form matters to you.

What is missing from the Gelagen ingredients list?

A panel has a second half below the nutrients: the "other ingredients" line. It names the gummy base, the sweeteners, the colors and the flavor. For Gelagen that line is not published here, and neither is the allergen statement. The gummies are red, and the taste is not published either.

That gap has real consequences. You cannot tell from this site whether the base uses gelatin, how much sugar a serving holds, or whether a sweetener might upset your stomach. Read the line on your bottle, or phone the order desk at +1 (302) 200-3480 before you buy if any of these matter to you.

Also missing, by design: collagen. The word sounds like the name, but no collagen is on the panel.

How do you check the label against the bottle?

  1. Find the serving line

Confirm it says two gummies and 30 servings.

  2. Match biotin

Check that biotin reads 5,000 mcg. It is the number every other check hangs on.

  3. Read the last line

Check the other ingredients and any allergen note.

  4. Turn the bottle over

Compare the lot on the base with GEL-26/GE-1348. Newer stock may carry a newer lot.

  5. Save a photo

Keep a picture of the panel, so you can show a clinician or a lab exactly what you take.

Frequently asked questions

What is the serving size of Gelagen?

Two gummies. A bottle holds 60 gummies, so it has 30 servings and lasts 30 days at the labeled dose.

How many ingredients are in Gelagen?

Thirteen nutrients are listed: vitamins A, C, D, E, B6 and B12, folate, biotin, pantothenic acid, choline, iodine, zinc and inositol. Each has its own amount, with no blend.

Is 5,000 mcg of biotin the same as 5 mg?

Yes. A milligram is a thousand micrograms, so 5,000 mcg equals 5 mg. It is still about 167 times the 30 mcg adult reference.

Does the Gelagen label list collagen?

No. The panel has no collagen. Gelagen is a vitamin and mineral gummy built around biotin, despite a name that sounds like collagen.

What are the other ingredients in Gelagen?

The gummy base, sweeteners and colors are not published on this site. Read the line on your bottle or ask the order desk before you buy.

Why is choline only 0.04 mg?

That is the amount the seller lists. Its Daily Value is 550 mg, so the amount rounds to under 1%. Treat it as a trace, not a reason to buy.

Our view

Our view: the panel is honest where it is complete. Every nutrient has its own number, and nothing hides in a blend. That is better than many gummies.

The weak part is the second half of the label, which we cannot show. Until you have read the "other ingredients" line, you have read only half of it. Do that before you order, and keep a photo of the full panel.
